Domnopalus sculpture final by Domnopalus Domnopalus sculpture final by Domnopalus
The final pix of my Domnopalus sculpture. I started this guy back in 2007 or 2008 - he's been a labor of love for several years now (slowly). I intended to carve the scale pattern all over him but it was getting to the point where as I was adding more toolmarks, I was erasing others simply by holding the thing; so it had to be baked unfortunately. This guy was really my first serious sculpture ever and I learned SO MUCH from working on him. Can't wait to do a new one of him with my newfound skillz.

Made from Super Sculpey on wire armature, cracks sealed and tail added with Amazing Sculpt and Apoxie Sculpt.

He's the size of a Breyer Traditional

This is the most impressive sculpture I've seen in a very long time - not to mention one of my favorite beasties. You did an incredible job.

It turned out SO EXCELLENT!!!! You know you could always bake in phases, when I do my posable dolls I bake for the minimum amount of time but do the head and feet seperately so I don't bungle "done" bits =) He looks so beyond amazing =)

Have you ever considered carving the details in after you bake?
