Thoth - adoption audition

Here is my adoption entry for the awesome . There are absolutely GORGEOUS designs there--and I have fallen in love with this beauty. This is my absolute favorite horse coloring in the world--seal bay. Ironically enough, a snip is my most favorite facial marking, and white socks/stockings on the FRONT legs are my absolute fav too. Agh - he is perfect. His bio is somewhat borne of the recent events that have been haunting me ( see journal "A rant about animal cruelty" ) so he's developed a lot of meaning to me. I've never done an adoption before - I really hope I get him <3

He is a Criollo, which is a hardy (often wild) horse of Spanish descent. They are similar to Mustangs but they are a bit bigger (and a few other minor differences).

Personality: Thoth is known as ‘the protector of the innocent.’ His personality is extremely gentle by default. He holds a great deal of power in few words. However, he has warrior blood and fiercely protects the righteous and the innocent—which is of course, by his judgment. Fighting is a last resort for him if his words aren’t penetrating enough, but one is likely to be sorry if he gets to this point. Other than that, he has an extremely nurturing nature—fatherly, one could say, though he stays mostly celibate since he wishes not to be distracted from protecting his herd. He has the deepest hatred for those who wish to harm others merely for the sake of sadism, which is rooted in his past.

Backstory: Thoth was born wild, but was captured with his mother when he was only a foal. His owners were kind and good to them, and raised horses not for competition but for pleasure and companionship. Three years later, they ran into financial difficulty and had to sell the ranch and their horses. He was separated from his mother, who was sold unknowingly to a premarin farm. Thoth was auctioned to a poorly kept ranch not terribly far from where his mother was. For one and a half unbearable years, he was ‘trained’ abusively, until he’d had enough. Now, a young hot-blooded stallion, he easily trashed the poorly kept ranch and escaped. He barreled to the farm where his mother was being kept. The living conditions were horrible and she was in poor health, and in foal at the time. Thoth destroyed everything he could set his hooves on in a furious whirlwind of wild power. He freed his mother, and as many other mares he could, and ran with them into the wilderness, where he then started his herd of rescued horses. Now, he fiercely protects them from any harm that comes their way, and watches them live out their lives in peace.
