WATSON DUMP

2 min read
It's time for an update on my little prince!

I discovered HE RIDES AND DRIVES.  AND HE CAME FROM AN AUCTION AND WOULD HAVE BEEN SOMEONE'S DINNER.  He is the MOST talented pony. <3

Guys, (especially Chevalin-Wanderlust peeps!), this is why I've been absent for the past few days.  Through some miracle of god, my biggest dream has come true, and that is to have my own horse.  I mentioned Chateau Stables where I will be teaching a horse sculpting class--well, through the incredible generosity of the owners Anita and Gloria (a daughter and mom team, which I love), they are letting me board my wonderful baby with them, and I will work three or four days a week in exchange for his board.  He came from an auction so he was close to being sent to slaughter!  My amazing parents who are not horse people, bought him for me since I had the wonderful opportunity to keep him at Chateau.  He was $500.

I decided to call him Dr. Watson :)  He is just PERFECT.  Perfect in every way.  He's my dream horse.  He's willing, affectionate, kind.  He's about 10 years old (the whole barn is filled with old timer horses that Chateau takes wonderful wonderful care of--you'd never know they were old!).  He's about 13hh, a 'handy' size they say.  I'm kind of short so he works out perfectly for me.  He's a little drafty, which I LOVE--he was announced as a Haflinger cross.  We don't know what his other half is, but he could be Welsh, Morgan, or Hackney.  But he is the most beautiful color ever, SILVER BAY--my most favorite horse color ever.  PLUS he has my favorite white marking ever--a snip.

I love him so very much!!!

So, I promise I'll get back to art stuffs (I can't live without that!) and I'll definitely get to some Chevalin RP!  I've just been a little preoccupied as of late :)

And remember, if you want them badly enough, it IS possible to find a way to make your dreams come true.  It might take time and patience, and unhappiness on the way, but if you keep working toward it, and you think creatively and make wonderful friends, it just might happen <3

Hi guys! Yup, I got a subscription again, so I'll be making some tweaks here and there n stuff.

I've been missing RP a lot, so I submitted an application to
:iconchevalin-wanderlust:
and I'm waiting to hear if I got in :)

I'm using it to kind of warm up and doodle and stuff and ease the stress of my ridiculously high-standards and perfectionism that's been kind of making me hesitate a lot with Strife of Khthon. But lately I've made a lot of progress with it, so as usual, stay tuned!

I'll tell ya a secret; keep your eyes open for Strife of Khthon mini-comics coming up soon. These will be side/parallel stories to the main plot. They are going to be a series of short explorations into the world of Khthon; I'm aiming for keeping them about 4-5 pages each (it's actually really hard to make things short!). These will be done in a much more simple style than the full main graphic novel will be. These will be nice, bold, etc., but the main graphic novel is going to be gorgeous, with fewer, larger, much more detailed images and accompanying blocks of text. The short mini-comics will be less detailed and more comic-like.

Also, here's what I've been getting into:

3D Printing
I've been exploring 3D modeling and printing, which has been AWESOME!!! I can create sculptures by hand in Sculptris, without fighting the materials and gravity as I have in the past with real-media sculpting.
This is one of the results, you know who!
This is also part of my endeavoring to make Strife of Khthon extremely immersive and multi-media!  There will be figurines made of all the main characters and such eventually.  Of course, I want to get you all hyped up about the story first!

I have another one, a Mustang, that I'm currently attempting to cast traditionally with Smooth-On materials.  I'll let you know how that goes.

Teaching
This is a weird one.  I actually never liked the idea of teaching, but in my struggle to find a job, and some serious soul-searching, I'm discovering that this is really something I'd actually love to do!  I'm looking into ways to promote the class.  Of course this is in-person, here in NYC, rather than online.  But very interestingly, I found an amazing venue in which to teach--a real, active stable!  Here in Manhattan!  Chateau Stables is a carriage company here in Manhattan that is completely family-run, buy some of the absolute NICEST and SWEETEST people I have EVER met.  They really are kindred spirits.  They keep to themselves and don't get involved at all in the carriage horse controversy--they only have 4 Central Park carriages and they are very strict about how things are done in their stable--stricter than the city regulations! So the horses are cared for very, very carefully, and regularly transported out to their beautiful farm in Pennsylvania as well.  They do weddings, funerals, movies (they were responsible for all the horses in the Godfather movies!).  Anyway, I could go on and on about how wonderful they are.  But I've spoken with the owner and she has agreed to let me teach horse sculpting classes right there in the stable, with the horses right there available for modeling!  I'm very excited.  I just have to work out fees and logistics and such and marketing, particularly.  Very excited.

Anyway, that's about it!  Thanks for reading my babble!  Expect some changes and stuff to be going on here, now that I've officially returned to DA. :3

Yup.  I know it's been a loooooong long time since you all have heard from me.  Between life difficulties and finishing up school, and then trying to find jobs (and failing), I haven't had much opportunity to make much art (ironically), much less Strife of Khthon related work.  Well, this is all about to change.  I have a new job--actually, a new career.  I work for myself!  And my hours are Monday-Friday, 10-7.  And I also do overtime.

and you know what that means????

MORE KHTHON!!!!!!!!!!!

And now we have a Facebook page.  If you want the MOST recent, up to date info about Khthon, please 'like' us here: www.facebook.com/strife.of.kht…

I am EXTREMELY excited about this.  The revamp of the entire story will begin very shortly.  I've been doing some warm up sketches to get back in the groove.  It will now be in 'illustrated book format' rather than comic format.  This means fewer, but larger, much more detailed, full-color, fully-shaded images.

I hope you'll join me, as I have TONS planned for this, including all matter of multi-media; e.g. sculptures, figurines, animations, and various other interactives.

I have it set up so if you donate $45, you will GET a cast of this unicorn :3  And if you donate $25 or more, you will get a medallion I sculpted.
